Das Department gratuliert: Professor Harald Haas erhält Humboldt-Forschungspreis
Professor Harald Haas (University of Strathclyde, UK), erhält den Humboldt-Forschungspreis der Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung. Um aus der Laudatio zur Preisübergabe zu zitieren:
„Professor Harald Haas is one of the most visible and most cited researchers in the area of wireless communications. He invented spatial modulation, a new and revolutionary modulation format for wireless communication systems, and he pioneered visible light communication systems. His work on LiFi optical wireless became known to a broader public through two TED talks, which have been viewed more than 2.7 Mio times, respectively. In Germany, he will continue his groundbreaking work towards Terabit free space optical communications.“
Neben einem Preisgeld von 60.000 Euro erhält Prof. Haas die Möglichkeit, an der FAU ein Forschungsvorhaben seiner Wahl durchzuführen. Als Gastgeber wird Prof. Robert Schober vom Lehrstuhl für Digitale Übertragung (IDC) fungieren. Beide freuen sich schon sehr auf die Zusammenarbeit.
