This is us

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology (EEI for short) is one of six departments in the Faculty of Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). The 16 chairs of the EEI department introduce students to all areas of electrical engineering.
Close contacts to the two successful Fraunhofer Institutes and the renowned Max Planck Institute in Erlangen, as well as to globally active industrial partners and foreign universities, ensure that our students receive an application-oriented and practical education at a top international level in a field of research represented by high-ranking scientists.
Our study degree programs
At our department, we offer students the whole world of electrical engineering: from A (like Applied Quantum Technologies) to Z (like Reliable Circuits). While some of our courses concentrate on the – very broad – field of electrical engineering, other courses focus on the subject boundaries to chemical and bioengineering, computer science or mechanical engineering.
Information on the individual courses can be found on the respective homepages.
Our degree courses include, among others
Autonomy Technologies

Berufspädagogik Technik

Energietechnik

Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen (Studienrichtung Elektrotechnik)

Elektromobilität

Mechatronik

Medizintechnik

Advanced Signal Processing and Communications Engineering

Communications and Multimedia Engineering
